Rentomojo Targets Tier ll Growth with Offline Retail Push in Navi Mumbai
Indian Retailer
Rental solutions provider Rentomojo has opened its 51st experience center in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, marking its first physical outlet in the city. This development reflects the company’s continued push into a phygital retail model, combining digital convenience with physical product interaction.
Rentomojo now operates more than 50 experience stores across key metros and Tier ll cities, supported by a digital platform that serves customers in 22 cities. The new Mumbai store showcases a 650 sq ft 1BHK studio, fully furnished to allow walk-in customers to engage with various home setups, including beds, sofas, wardrobes, and appliances, before committing to a rental subscription. Online customers can also schedule in-store visits for hands-on interaction.
The company has positioned its model around high return on capital employed (ROCE) and asset efficiency, with 83 percent asset utilisation and an in-house refurbishing network that supports circular consumption. The model appeals to urban renters—including young professionals, nuclear families, and Gen Z consumers, who prefer access and flexibility over long-term ownership.
Rentomojo’s expansion has also shown results: experience centers are reportedly driving higher conversions and average order value compared to digital-only operations. The brand sees demand growing not only in established metro markets but also in Tier-ll cities such as Mysuru, Jaipur, and Indore, where lifestyle rental services are gaining traction.
With a subscriber base of over 2 lakh, more than 6.3 lakh active assets under management, and 21 warehouses across India, Rentomojo has delivered a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 49 percent over the past three years. The company claims to hold an estimated 50 percent share in the organised rental market, and has maintained profitability for three consecutive years.
As Indian consumers increasingly shift from ownership to subscription-led services, Rentomojo is strengthening its retail-tech model by offering flexibility, low capital commitment, and sustainable choices through its growing offline presence.
